The hands and heart behind Madhunani
Meet Madhu Rohatgi.
Madhu Rohatgi has spent her life turning care into action. A retired healthcare practitioner, social worker, and community activist, she is also a trained Kathak dancer, artist, and the Nani behind Madhunani. Her life has been rooted in service, learning, and creativity.
Education made personal
Born into a Hindi-speaking family, Madhu organized education camps in villages and personally taught Hindi classes every weekend. She also serves on the boards of several Hindi-medium schools in Ranchi.
She founded and serves as a trustee of Rohatgi Charitable Trust. Through its No Girl Left Behind work, the trust accepted financial responsibility for educating two girls each year through college. It also provided free healthcare and education to people living below the poverty line, and selected one school each year to receive supplies for every student.

Women, health, and community
As an executive-board advisor to Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Mahila Samiti, Madhu supported women's health and wellbeing, small handicraft businesses, fundraising, and community marriages. Her service reached underserved women, older adults, and villages across Jharkhand and Delhi.
She organized and joined an eye-donation awareness walkathon. The organization's online eye-donation awareness program later entered the Golden Book of World Records. During the 2020 pandemic, Madhu donated food and offered free health support to people in her community.
Creativity, carried forward
Madhu is also a trained Kathak dancer and an artist who draws. During the pandemic, she taught children paper art online. Madhunani brings that creative side into yarn, with each finished piece made by her hands, one at a time.
